Job summary

Roush is hiring Fabricator I (Metal) to cut materials and weld metal using hand tools and equipment for automotive prototype projects. You will be mentored by the team and support shop services on diverse fabrication tasks, contributing to high-quality prototypes.

The role requires at least 6 months of fabrication experience, basic TIG/MIG welding skills, and a willingness to work overtime as needed. This is a direct-hire, full-benefits position based in Allen Park, MI.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant fabrication experience.
• Basic knowledge and ability to TIG or MIG weld.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge to safely operate Plasma cutter and Oxy-Fuel torch to cut material.
• Own tools and rolling toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Weld instrumentation, exhaust tubes and bosses.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with sanding disk and wire brushes.
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Maintain shop equipment by following instructions and performing preventive maintenance.
• Keep daily shop organized and clean up after tasks.
