Job summary

Pratt Miller, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead prototype builds, manage build readiness, and coordinate across design, manufacturing, and program teams in defense-focused projects.

You will drive DFM/DFA, define build processes, and plan resources for efficient, repeatable production readiness on fast-paced programs. US citizenship and security clearance readiness are required, with 8–4 work hours and site presence in our manufacturing area.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (MS preferred).
• 5+ years in mechanical system manufacturing, defense/auto/high-performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead prototype build activities with planning, sequencing, and daily execution.
• Assess build readiness: parts, tooling, facilities, docs, and resources.
• Track material deliverables and align with build schedules.
• Provide hands-on shop-floor support; resolve issues in real time.
• Capture and drive resolution of build issues and nonconformances.
• Collaborate with design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) early in lifecycle.
• Develop and manage build plans, schedules, and resource forecasts.
• Define assembly processes, work instructions, and layouts.
• Support facility planning and capital equipment needs for builds.
• Coordinate logistics: shipping, off-site work, test support.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, quality, purchasing, program mgmt.
