Job summary

Weiss-Aug MedPharma in Fairfield, NJ is seeking a skilled Prototype Machinist to produce high-quality prototype parts for new product development and process validation. The role requires translating engineering concepts into precision parts using both manual and CNC equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in prototype or precision machining, strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training in Machining Technology preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a prototype, tool room, model shop, or precision machining environment preferred.
• Experience with manual and CNC machining and ability to read blueprints and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture precision prototype and development components from engineering drawings, CAD data, or verbal instructions.
• Set up and operate manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, drill presses, and other tool room machinery.
• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes; program, edit, and optimize CNC programs for prototype work.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop practical machining solutions for complex parts.
• Inspect first pieces and verify dimensional compliance using precision measuring equipment.
