Insight Global is seeking a Prototype Development Engineer in California to support development, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, and test readiness of advanced Labcars, HIL benches, and related prototype electrical assets. You will blend hands-on hardware with software integration and maintain rigorous configuration management across builds.

Responsibilities include asset bring-up, commissioning, wiring and module replacements, BOM correlation, diagnostics, and test readiness

Formación

• Experience with prototype electrical test assets such as Labcars and HIL benches.
• Hands-on hardware–software integration with configuration management.
• Familiarity with BOM reconciliation and hardware diagnostics.

Responsabilidades

• Asset bring-up and commissioning of Labcars and prototype test assets after hardware or software changes.
• Oversee wiring, harness and module replacement, instrumentation setup, and network debugging (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Maintain asset hardware, software, and configuration records; track BOM revisions and test readiness.
• Correlate engineering BOMs with physical hardware and ensure alignment with configurations.
• Identify changes between engineering releases and build phases; assess impact on assets and required updates.
• Troubleshoot electrical, network, hardware, and software-configuration issues; collect diagnostics and coordinate support.
• Develop or execute commissioning, smoke-test, regression, and readiness procedures with go/no-go criteria.
• Coordinate installation, flashing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and validation around shared asset schedules.
• Document installed hardware, BOM revisions, software/flash status, and test-readiness status.
• Improve repeatability via checklists, configuration controls, data validation, and automation where practical.
