Apple Inc. is standing up a new Product Design lab and seeks a Lab Engineer to own it end to end — from shaping the space during construction to commissioning and daily operation on-site.

You’ll machine urgent parts, program CAM, and ensure quality with dimensional inspection, collaborating with Product Design engineers on practical build paths. You will manage lab requests, safety, calibration schedules, and vendor relationships while partnering with internal labs and external shops for heavier

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on CNC machining experience with setup, fixturing, tooling sel.ction, and producing parts to drawings.
• Experience running a prototyping/R&D lab or machine shop including maintenance and safety.
• Hands-on work across mechanical, electrical, and test in a prototyping/R&D environment.
• Experience performing dimensional inspection and interpreting drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Experience scoping and specifying machined parts and working with fabrication vendors.
• On-site lab operation with ability to lift up to 25 lbs and schedule flexibility around milestones.

Mansioni

• Machine, fabricate, and assemble prototype parts on-site using CNC milling, manual tools, and 3D printing.
• Plan and shape the lab facility during construction: layout, utilities, equipment strategy, and commissioning.
• Own ongoing lab management: preventive maintenance, calibration, spares, service contracts, upgrades.
• Partner with Product Design engineers on build strategy and iteration to translate concepts into a practical build path.
• Route heavier fabrication to internal shops, peer labs, or external vendors with quotes and timelines.
• Perform routine dimensional inspection and determine when deeper metrology is needed.
• Manage intake, prioritization, scheduling, and delivery of all lab requests.
• Maintain a safe, audit-ready lab with EH&S compliance, training, and documentation.
