Job summary

Epta Group is seeking a Prototype Helper in Columbus, GA. You will assist the prototype supervisor in constructing and testing product prototypes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and ongoing process improvements. You will gather materials, assemble components, perform basic inspections, document results, and contribute to improvements in prototype production and testing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in related position with basic maintenance, refrigeration, or air conditioning experience.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and organize materials (raw stock, fasteners, components) per specs.
  • Assemble prototype parts using hand tools, power tools and basic machinery.
  • Perform basic inspections on assembled components to identify defects.
  • Assist in setting up test setups, run tests, record data and document results.
  • Keep detailed records of assembly processes, test procedures and results.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance quality and productivity in prototype production.

Description

This Prototype Helper position is with Kysor-Warren Epta, part of the global Epta Group, located in Columbus, Georgia. As a key member of our team, you will assist the prototype supervisor in the construction and testing of product prototypes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement. Join us to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through technical and administrative excellence.

Your Contribution
  • Gather and organize necessary materials, including raw stock, fasteners, and components according to project specifications.
  • Assemble prototype parts using hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery.
  • Perform basic inspections on assembled components to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Assist in setting up test setups, running tests, recording data, and documenting results.
  • Keep detailed records of the prototype assembly process, test procedures, and results.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance quality and productivity in prototype production.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a related position, with basic management, refrigeration, or air conditioning experience.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (e.g., sheet metal, machined parts).
  • Proficient in assembling mechanical components with common tools.
  • Familiar with case functionality to ensure effective assembly.
  • Able to create prototype components (machining, 3D printing).
  • Skilled in first-level maintenance of machines and managing stock of raw materials.
  • Capable of performing basic electrical assemblies.
  • Certified to handle cases using appropriate tools like forklifts and pallet trucks.
  • Conduct tests, record results using measurement devices, and maintain test documentation.
