Job summary

Kelly Engineering in Lake Orion, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Lab Technician to support development of medical devices and gas separation technologies, applying electrical and mechanical skills across prototype hardware.

You will build, test, and troubleshoot development hardware, read schematics and drawings, solder fine-pitch components, organize lab equipment, and collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field or related discipline.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and assembly skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong soldering skills including fine-pitch and SMT rework.
• Ability to interpret product performance testing results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, debug, and test development hardware and prototypes.
• Support electrical testing and troubleshooting of embedded devices.
• Flash software/firmware as needed for development and testing.
• Test electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices and document results.
• Read drawings and schematics to guide assembly.
• Organize and maintain lab equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams.
• Follow lab safety procedures.
