Job summary

Intuitive in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Senior Engineering Assembly Technician to assemble, debug, and support testing of prototype hardware for complex electromechanical systems. You will work largely from CAD models with limited documentation and interact with engineers and machine shops to evolve designs.

The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, fixture development, and basic testing, including operating 3D printers and feeding feedback to designers on fit and ease of assembly.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling mechanical and electrical components from CAD models.
• Ability to work with limited documentation.
• Experience using basic machine shop tools (lathe, mill).
• Familiarity with test fixtures and prototype testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components and subsystems referencing 3D CAD models with limited documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, build, and test prototype hardware and fixtures.
• Document assembly issues and provide feedback on part-fit and assembly process.
• Provide practical feedback to engineering on design improvements, tool access, and fixture usability.
• Operate machine shop tools (lathe, mill) to modify parts as needed.
• Maintain organized toolboxes, inventories, and tool lists.
• Interface with machine shops to support part fabrication and fixture builds.
• Organize and maintain assembly area and tool qualifications.
• Support testing activities and record results.
