Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a Prototype Fabrication Technician to organize, maintain, and operate the Model Shop in support of Technology Center goals. You will create machined parts and sheet metal components per blueprints, review drawings, and operate a range of machines safely in a first-shift on-site Minnesota facility.

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or equivalent experience and at least six years of relevant fabrication work; a Universal Refrigeration Certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create machined parts, assemblies and sheet metal components using blueprints, sketches or verbal direction.
• Review sketches, drawings, photographs, mating parts, verbal and written descriptions to determine metal type, fabrication method, fastening and assembly points, raw stock, fastener sizes, hole locations, part dimensions, fabrication sequence, methods, and procedures
• Operate and maintain a wide variety of machine tools in a safe and efficient manner including; milling machines, lathes, drill presses, punch presses, sheet metal shears and brakes, welding and brazing equipment, etc.
• Provide recommendations to Management regarding procedures, process improvements and equipment upgrades
• Maintain cleanliness of the Model Shop area and ensure proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of Model Shop through the training of personnel, organization of equipment, and management of toolcrib and Technology Center supplies
• Train other employees in day-to-day procedures.

Location: Onsite, Plymouth, MN (1st shift)

Your Responsibilities:

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.65 to $47.04 per hour in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
