Job summary

SAIC in Middletown, RI seeks an Engineering Technician to support design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, including electronics, photonics and logic modules.

You will work from schematics, diagrams, and defined plans to perform testing, troubleshoot, and document engineering activities, with limited supervision and opportunity to advance in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• AA Degree in related discipline and two years related experience, or years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to obtain up to SECRET level clearance.
• Production cable building experience.
• Experience wiring electronics.
• Background in reading schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering activities: design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
• Assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions and collect, organize and manipulate technical data.
• Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics).
• Operate with limited supervision and adapt to new lines of work or assignments.
