Job summary

Actalent in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical systems. You will collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Test, and Software teams to build prototypes and drive improvements.

The role requires broad skills in mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, testing, and documentation within a fast-paced product development environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience assembling and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with common test and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience supporting engineering development, manufacturing, prototype, or test environments.
• Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fabricate mechanical systems per drawings and work instructions.
• Build fixtures, jigs, and tooling for assembly and testing.
• Perform soldering, wire harness fabrication, and cable routing.
• Set up and operate mechanical and environmental test equipment.
• Collect, document, and analyze test data to support decisions.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
