Proton Therapy System (PTS) Service Engineer

Kind of contract: Open Ended Contract

Mission: Responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment that is essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS), troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders, supporting hardware and software testing, and being involved in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities, which affect global operations.

Challenges we trust you with
  • Maintain and deploy the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for various customer needs, including QA, Development, Software/Hardware Testing, Troubleshooting, and Experimentation.
  • Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
  • Perform maintenance of the PTS including routine preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance as necessary.
  • Perform system inspections and clearly communicate the status of the system to leadership and IBA employees.
  • Provide support to PTS Hardware and Software testing.
  • Support daily clinical operations for the customer clinical staff as defined by the Site Manager and Site Technical Leader (STL) in accordance with site policies.
  • Maintain adequate records as defined by the customer and Site Manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
  • Support the PTS in all phases, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities as defined by the Site Manager and STL.
  • Coach and support new hires and peers in a career progression path.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
What we value

You have:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or other applicable field, or a High School diploma or Associate’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience, such as hands-on electrical, mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of large integrated systems.
  • 3+ years' experience in electrical/mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of large integrated systems.
  • Experience in several of the following: Cyclotrons, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, X-Ray Systems, Positioning Equipment, Cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems, PLC’s (Siemens), Regulation Loops, Drivers, Sensors, Electric Motors, Radars, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, Proton Therapy Systems, etc.
  • Solid general knowledge of/experience with MS Suite: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, SAP, Siemens Step 7, and Service Max is a plus.
  • Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The approximate annual base salary range for this position is provided below. Within this range, individual compensation is influenced by various factors such as location, job-specific skills, work experience, and relevant education or training. This role may also qualify for discretionary bonuses, profit sharing, commissions, and benefits.

Approximate Range: $72,200 – $95,500 USD
