Job summary

Ferco Aerospace is seeking a skilled Proto Trak Operator in the Midwest. You’ll fabricate and modify parts, set up Proto Trak lathes and mills, and follow blueprints to meet strict specifications. The role demands accuracy, high attendance, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Full-time with benefits on 1st and 2nd shift. Qualified candidates will have manual machinist experience, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

  • Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Set up and operate Proto Trak lathes and mills
  • Determine tasks needed to complete machined products
  • Perform machining operations such as turning, reaming, boring, facing, and threading parts
  • Build product acceptance tooling and gauges
  • Must be able to follow job routers and blueprints to determine machining requirements; including sequence of operations, required tooling, feeds, speeds, etc
  • Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good work ethic
  • Self-starter
  • Willing to learn
  • Good attendance
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Manual Machinist experience a must

Ferco Tech is on the hunt for the absolute best Proto Trak Operator in the Midwest. You’re humble about your skills, but deep down you know your work is to be prized and admired. Position Demands
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time on a daily basis
  • Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etc
  • Able to successfully pass vision screens
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.
  • Perform repetitious duties, such as hammering a part to specification.
Schedule
  • Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm overtime possible daily and Fridays
  • Monday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 2:30 am overtime possible daily and Sundays

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Ferco Aerospace will require proof of status prior to employment.
