Music Ministry International seeks a Protestant Contemporary Musician to provide keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for worship services across traditional, contemporary, or gospel styles, as directed by the Protestant Chaplain. Services are scheduled around the church's worship timetable.

The role requires at least two years of applicable experience and proficiency in piano/keyboard or guitar, with solid sight-reading and vocal collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience playing keyboard/piano and/or guitar in a chapel or church setting.
• Experience accompanying vocalists and/or congregation in Protestant worship music.
• Ability to sight-read and to adapt to traditional, contemporary, and gospel styles.

Responsabilités

• Accompany Protestant worship services as assigned by the Chaplain.
• Participate in weekly rehearsals lasting at least 30 minutes.
• Assist in planning and coordinating music for worship services with the Chaplain.
• Arrive early before rehearsals and services and ensure audio/visual equipment is ready.
• Leave the worship team area clean and restore the setup after use.

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

The Protestant Contemporary Musician will provide keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for the worship service that includes traditional, contemporary, or gospel music styles, which will be determined by the Protestant Chaplain. Time of services will be coordinated based on the Protestant religious service schedule.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience playing keyboard/piano and/or guitar accompaniment for a chapel or church setting.
• Experience accompanying vocalists and/or congregation in a chapel setting utilizing a wide range of traditional, contemporary, and gospel Christian music for all Protestant music groups and events, as well as assisting with ecumenical events.
• Proficiency on piano, keyboard and/or guitar, vocal ability, and the ability to sight‑read.
• Experience utilizing innovative approaches to effectively play music in a way that enhances the spiritual value of Protestant worship services and encourages congregational participation in musical worship.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as accompanist for Protestant worship services under the assigned service Protestant Chaplain.
• Participate in weekly rehearsals for vocalists lasting no less than 30 minutes, not including the time required to set up and tear down.
• Assist the Protestant Chaplain in planning and coordinating music for worship services in consultation with the assigned service Chaplain.
• Be present at least ten (10) minutes before rehearsals and fifteen (15) minutes before worship services. Ensure all audio/visual equipment is set up and tested prior to each service/rehearsal.
• Ensure the worship team area is left clean after use by putting audio/visual equipment away properly and restoring the area to its original configuration.

• Easter Sunrise, Good Friday Services – 4 units
• Christmas Eve – 2 units
• Weddings/funerals not to exceed six funerals/weddings/memorials per year

This is a part‑time position with compensation based on budget and the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
