Requirements
Provide a resume and a short 1–3 minute video of your vocal performance/capabilities.
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the Christian Faith (Protestant) and be familiar with the musical traditions/customs of the Protestant Contemporary community.
Have training and experience in worship planning and musical instrument abilities, and the ability to direct, produce, and arrange as needed.
Be able to read sheet music notes (not required). Playing the keyboard and/or guitar with tempo, rhythm, and registration to a large congregation is preferred.
Be proficient in quality vocal performance, learning new music via sheet music (preferred) or chords (acceptable) and performing vocal sheet music; play at least one musical instrument; recruit talented volunteer musicians and vocalists of all ages; build cohesive music teams/choirs; effectively lead congregational worship (determined by video or in person).
Be able to lead a music team to perform a wide variety of Protestant worship music, including the full range of contemporary worship music.
Duties
Be responsible for leading and providing services at the Protestant Contemporary Service.
Work with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee to coordinate and plan all Protestant Contemporary Services, including Sunday morning worship and special events as directed.
Direct the Worship Team with guidance from the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee.
Work weekly with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee to select songs that are fitting and appropriate for Protestant Contemporary Service, in accordance with the Chaplain’s vision.
Conduct rehearsals at least once a week, not on the same day as worship service.
Distribute all selected songs to the Worship Team no later than 24 hours prior to rehearsal so that time is available for individual preparation and rehearsal.
Assist in setup and teardown of musical equipment for each worship service as required.
Arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to any rehearsal and no later than 30 minutes prior to any service or special event; maintain a written log of work performed under this contract.
