Job summary

Jackson County, NC is seeking an advanced Social Worker to provide protective, investigative, counseling and case management services for at-risk children. The role includes crisis response, court testimony, and coordination of treatment and foster care or residential placement as needed.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying professional ethics and state/federal guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families in complex cases.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master's in Social Work with at least 1 year of social work experience or a Bachelor's in Social Work with 2 years of social work or counseling experience.
• Alternative combinations include a Master's in a counseling field with 2 years of related experience, or a 4-year human services degree with 3 years of social work experience.
• One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Investigate alleged neglect and abuse and substantiate findings per federal and state guidelines.
• Provide treatment, crisis intervention, and case management services to at-risk children and families.
• Offer expert testimony in court hearings and coordinate referrals for foster care or residential placement.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver services and ensure safety and well-being of clients.
