Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking an instructor to promote a positive classroom atmosphere, motivate students, and serve as SME for the Career Technical Training field. You will present lessons using multimodal approaches and maintain lesson plans aligned with industry standards.

Responsibilities include managing discipline, documenting progress, assisting in job placement, and developing industry partnerships to support internships and credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Prior experience in Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) preferred.
• Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state where the center is located (RO may waive under certain conditions).
• Experience working with diverse youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the employment state with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom.
• Functions as SME for Career Technical Training and instructs accordingly.
• Presents lessons using multimodal approaches to accommodate learning styles.
• Maintains discipline to ensure maximum learning.
• Maintains lesson plans aligned with Industry Standards and Training Achievement Record.
• Records attendance and submits to Student Records; assists with Job Corps forms.
• Ensures safety and cleanliness of classrooms and shops.
• Develops industry partnerships for work-based learning, internships, and job placement outcomes.
• Assists students in obtaining credentials.
• Updates Training Achievement Record (eTAR) as required.
• Prepares reports on hours, attendance, and evaluations.
• Assists with student placement (job, military, college, apprenticeship).
• Operates per PRH, SOPs, and corporate policies.
• Evaluates and records student progress and case notes.
