Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Corporation in Pittsburgh is seeking a Protective Services Caseworker for the Pennsylvania Adult Protective Services Program. This full-time, field-based role offers autonomy with occasional after-hours work and the chance to help adults living with disabilities by detecting and addressing abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

You will travel across Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, conduct residential investigations, interview individuals, document findings, and develop service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice or a human service field is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
• Ability to travel throughout the region.
• Ability to navigate emotionally challenging situations with compassion and resilience.
• Previous field-based experience in protective services or related human services.

A full-time Protective Services Caseworker position is available with Liberty Healthcare and the Pennsylvania Adult Protective Services Program.

As a Protective Services Caseworker you will actively contribute to the program’s mission which is to detect, prevent, reduce and eliminate abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment of adults who are living with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Traveling throughout Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and the greater region
• Conducting investigations in residences
• Interviewing individuals and gathering information
• Identifying, mitigating, and eliminating areas of risk to the individual
• Documenting findings and writing reports
• Developing service plans, coordinating services, and managing cases to closure

This is a field-based role that comes with a high degree of autonomy, some flexibility in your work schedule, and occasional work after typical business hours.

Salary And Benefits

• $48,000 per year

Qualifications

Liberty considers recent graduates as well as early career and experienced human service professionals.

Preferred Required

A bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice or a human service field is preferred but not required if you have experience in one of these areas:

• Service Coordinator, Supports Coordinator, Program Specialist or Case Manger roles
• Child, Family and Youth Services or Older Adult Protective Services
• Behavioral / mental health or developmental disabilities services
• Law enforcement (e.g. police, parole, and probation)
• Field-based healthcare or human services roles

You must be able to navigate emotionally challenging situations while exercising compassion and resilience.

Since you will be required to travel throughout the region, you must have your own insured vehicle.
