Overview:

The PSO Supervisor assigned to RFK Post 21 is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of uniformed Protective Service Officers (PSOs) providing armed guard services at one of DOJ's most critical locations. This role ensures proper post coverage, adherence to DOJ protocols, and the effective implementation of security procedures in accordance with the contract Statement of Work (SOW).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise PSOs assigned to RFK Post 21, ensuring full compliance with post orders, DOJ policies, and performance standards.
  • Conduct daily roll call briefings 20 minutes prior to each shift to communicate Access Denial Orders, security alerts, and special instructions.
  • Monitor officer performance, appearance, conduct, and readiness; provide on-the-spot corrections or initiate disciplinary action as required.
  • Ensure proper response to alarms, emergencies, visitor screening, and access control operations in alignment with DOJ policy.
  • Maintain post logs and reports; ensure incident reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within 24 hours of any event.
  • Coordinate with the Deputy Program Manager and Control Center Dispatch to address coverage gaps, emergency deployments, and operational concerns.
  • Serve as the immediate point of contact for emergencies at Post 21, ensuring rapid communication with FPS, COR, and other federal authorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship and a minimum age of 21.
  • High school diploma or GED (Associate's or higher preferred).
  • A minimum of 18 months of prior law enforcement or armed federal contract security experience.
  • Graduation from a U.S. civilian or military law enforcement academy, or a federal/state corrections academy with firearms training.
  • Must be deputized (or eligible) under the U.S. Marshals Service Special Deputation Program.
  • Valid certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and NARCAN administration from ARC or AHA.
  • Must pass DOJ physical and agility requirements; maintain medical and firearms qualifications semi-annually.
  • Ability to supervise others, remain composed under stress, and enforce standards with professionalism and fairness.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) with strong incident report writing skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, responding to emergencies, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must wear a Level IIIA ballistic vest and full duty gear at all times while on duty.
