Job summary

The U.S. Secret Service seeks Officers in the Uniformed Division to protect facilities and venues secured for protectees. Relocation to Washington, DC is required, with a starting LE-01 salary and a $50,000 recruitment incentive.

Applicants must meet stringent requirements, including citizenship, medical and security clearances, and intensive training at FLETC and Rowley Training Center. The appointment is Schedule B, three years and 120 days, with potential conversion after the period.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license and be REAL ID compliant.
• Must be at least 20 years old at application; may be referred up to age 40.
• Must pass drug test before appointment and random drug testing during employment.
• Must obtain and retain a Top-Secret Clearance.
• Must register with the Selective Service System or be exempt if applicable.
• Complete 13 weeks of FLETC training and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the White House complex, the Vice President’s residence, and other designated facilities.
• Provide security for foreign missions and embassies and travel in support of heads of state.
• Enforce protective responsibilities as described under applicable law.
