Job summary

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is seeking a Security Lieutenant II to supervise protective forces and ensure DOE security requirements across facilities, safeguarding classified material and personnel while preventing unauthorized access, theft or disruption.

This role includes both armed and unarmed duties, emergency response participation, training, and coordination with management, law enforcement and customers to maintain secure operations on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years related work experience.
• 2+ years of armed forces security, military police or law enforcement experience.
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
• On-site work as directed by management and business needs.
• Regular and reliable attendance essential for this role.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Protective Forces personnel and daily security operations.
• Investigates unusual incidents and directs emergency actions.
• Develops access/perimeter control procedures and enforces security requirements.
• Implements security posture upgrades and coordinates with management on planning.
• Oversees PPE use and safety of security staff.
• Conducts protective force training including tactical routines and firearms.
