How you'll contribute
- Carry out sandblasting to remove contaminants and achieve the required surface profile.
- Prepare and apply industrial coatings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Complete all pre-application prep, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking.
- Inspect coated parts for consistent coverage, target thickness, and overall quality standards.
- Observe safety protocols and wear PPE without exception.
- Maintain and care for painting and blasting equipment; report any malfunctions promptly.
- Monitor temperature and humidity; adjust techniques and timing to suit conditions.
- Keep workspaces clean and ensure proper storage of materials and tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to confirm specifications.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers on progress and issues.
Preferred qualifications (not required)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of industrial blasting/painting experience.
- Comfort with airless and conventional spray systems.
- Knowledge of coating systems and surface prep standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work in varied conditions.
- Certifications in industrial painting (e.g., NACE, SSPC).
- Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments.
- Experience with forklift or overhead crane operation.
Work environment
- Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Use of PPE such as respirators, gloves, and coveralls.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and work in confined or elevated areas.
