Job summary

SEL Engineering Services, Inc. in Alpharetta, GA, seeks a Project Engineer - Protection to apply power system protection concepts and protective relays, train customers, and support design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection systems at customer sites.

This full-time, on-site role requires occasional travel across the United States; regular work at the Alpharetta field office is expected, with no remote work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of power system protection concepts.
• Experience with protective relays and protective relay testing.
• Willingness to travel domestically.
• Ability to prepare design documents and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist customers with creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection systems.
• Complete and implement assigned work within scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
• Prepare functional design specifications and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports and deliverables.
• Provide support for marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities.
• Continuously identify, measure, and improve engineering processes.
