Responsibilities

• Installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relay, powerline carrier, DFRs, RTUs, and communication processors
• Functional testing for protection/control circuitry for transmission lines, HV bus, transformers, circuit breakers, feeders, reactors, capacitor banks
• RTU and telecom upgrades
• Experience with SEL microprocessor relays (e.g., 311C, 387, 487B, 587, 787)
• Desired experience with GE relays (e.g., C30, D60, T60)
• Experience with RTUs and communication processors (GE, Telvent, SEL, Cooper, Novatech)
• Reviewing, documenting, and submitting test reports
• Interpreting diagrams and communication configurations
• Completing reports and maintaining company vehicle

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in electrical testing with protection/control equipment, RTUs, telecom (HV utility, co-op, power generation, federal, municipal)
• Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology or equivalent military experience
• Experience with transmission/distribution relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse)
• Experience with substation RTUs, communication, telecom for projects
• Project management experience in HV substations
• Knowledge of NERC CIP standards

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, stand long periods, drive
• Pass physical, drug, background checks
• Valid driver’s license, pass OSHA 30-hour training
• Work outdoors, travel extensively, work overtime
• Fluent in English
