Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC is seeking a Lead Protection and Control Technician to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot protection and control equipment for Fossil Generation Facilities. The role involves direct work or through teams, under guidance from the Lead P&C Technician, with duties across relaying, metering, and ancillary systems.

Expect substantial field work, travel, long hours, and physical demand in a fossil generation environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Significant field experience with protection and control (P&C) services preferred.
• Routine travel away from home is required.
• Extended work hours and strenuous physical effort may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of Plant protective relaying and control circuits including testing, calibration, and upgrades.
• Maintenance of metering and transducer calibrations.
• Maintenance of ancillary equipment and tests (e.g., current transformer, megger).
• Outage support and coordination with I&C personnel and contractors.
• Provide troubleshooting using recorder data.
