Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. in Knoxville, TN is seeking a P&C Engineering Associate with 3 to 6 years of design experience.

The ideal candidate reads, understands, and helps produce Protection & Control design drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, and related layouts) using AutoCAD. You will create connection diagrams from AC/DC schematics, maintain Bills of Materials, and support HV/MV substations and generation projects.

Qualifications

• 1) 3–6 years of design experience in Protection & Control.
• 2) Ability to read, understand and help produce P&C drawings.
• 3) P&C design experience for HV/MV substations and/or generation plants is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce P&C design drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, layouts, BOM).
• Create connection diagrams from AC/DC schematics and develop front/rear view layouts.
• Conduct self-checks and collaborate with team before submission for review.

Mesa seeks a P&C Engineering Associate with 3 to 6 years of design experience. The ideal candidate possesses the necessary skills to read, understand and help produce Protection & Control design drawings (Single Line, AC/DC Schematic, Elementary and Connection diagrams, Front & Rear View Layout/Elevation drawings, Bills of Material, etc.). The candidate will be able to produce connection diagrams based on AC/DC schematics and skilled at using AutoCAD. Candidate must be inquisitive, able to investigate solutions to problems before seeking help from others and must have an eye for detail. Ideal candidates have good work habits and regularly perform self-checks on all design work prior to submission to checkers. Proficiency at using Microsoft Excel and Word is a plus. P&C design experience relative to HV/MV substations and/or generation plants is a plus.
