Job description

PDS 2 / Power Delivery Substation

Mesa seeks a P&C Engineering Associate II for our Power Delivery Substation engineering design team based out of Chattanooga, TN. The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in P&C substation design for 69kV to 500kV substations and will work with a team to complete substation P&C design projects that meet client standards and practices. They will be responsible for maintaining quality and efficiency while developing deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, AC & DC Elementary/Schematic Diagrams, Panel Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Lists, and Bills of Material.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation, including calculations.
• Coordinate and prepare specifications, reports, design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
• Interface with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects as required.
• Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget on all assigned projects.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager.
• Establish, promote, and assure quality on all project work.
• Assist with construction issues by following up with field engineers to help resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.
• Attend group meetings with staff as required.
• Incorporate safe work practices into all activities.
• Help improve project execution, work processes, and procedures to continually enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Use strong verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients.
• Use interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients.
• Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in 69kV to 500kV substation P&C design.
• EIT is preferred.
