Herc Rentals is hiring for a ProTechnician Associate (Early Career Technician) in Piedmont, SC. The role starts with maintaining the yard, cleaning and organizing equipment, and supporting certified technicians while you develop diagnostic and repair skills on diesel equipment.

You will train with a team of mechanics, gain hands-on experience, and work toward more advanced technician positions within the company. A valid driver's license and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The ProTechnician Associate role is a one-of-a-kind and dynamic position that acts as a catalyst role to becoming an experienced technician. It stands out in its duty to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the location's equipment yard, while also conducting basic maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure operational readiness. Working side by side with certified technicians, you will receive training and development to accurately troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems, perform repairs, recondition and service heavy equipment and components.

What you will do...

Requirements

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors when required of the job
• Some knowledge in electrical and hydraulic systems and willing to learn how to read schematics

Skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn more complex mechanical skills.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment

Pay Range:$22.00-$24.00 Per Hour
