Job summary

The Supervisory and/or Non-Supervisory Prosthetic Representative administers, supervises, or performs work concerning rendering prosthetic and sensory aids services to disabled patients. This federal role requires planning and directing a Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Program at national, VISN, or local levels, and advising clinicians on device selection and procurement.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required; non-citizens only as allowed by policy.
• One year of creditable experience showing anatomy, medical terminology, and related skills.
• Bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in health care, public administration, or business.
• Equivalent combinations of experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct Prosthetic and Sensory Aids programs at national, VISN, or local levels.
• Advise clinicians on selection, prescription, and procurement of devices.
• Interpret prescriptions to ensure proper prosthetic devices are provided.
• Approve purchases, fabrication, or repair of devices.
• Maintain liaison with manufacturers and manage prosthetic contracts.
