Job summary

Unifi Aviation, LLC in Philadelphia seeks a Duty Manager to ensure the daily airport operation runs safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. The Duty Manager will oversee and coordinate team activities to create a reliable and effective operation.

You will lead a team, coach employees, monitor staffing and performance, uphold safety and regulatory requirements, and support policy adherence. This role requires flexibility for varied shifts and strong leadership to drive results at the station.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain credentials required as per airport or state or customs requirements.
• Supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates team activities related to the operation.
• Coaches, counsels and mentors employees, including issuing disciplinary action as required.
• Assists in recruiting, administrative tasks, payroll, employee scheduling, and general administrative duties.
• Monitors staffing and overtime use and operational and financial performance of the assigned station.
• Promotes team-building initiatives to develop and motivate team members.
• Monitors and enforces safe working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling services industry.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, lift up to 70lbs and move up to 70lbs; and constantly walk, stand, handle, grasp and reach out. May have to reach above shoulder occasionally.

Working Conditions

• You will need to have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. We operate in a shift bid environment.
• Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment.
• Enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis (sun, rain, sleet or snow!) May be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, jet and machinery noises, fumes, dirt and dust for extended periods.
