Job summary

SAS in Cary, NC is seeking a Prospect Development Representative (Emerging Careers) to support new business by proactively engaging with prospects, qualifying opportunities, and nurturing leads through the pipeline.

You will collaborate with Sales and Marketing, conduct outreach via phone, email, and digital channels, and maintain accurate CRM records while upholding security policies. The HQ hybrid role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with up to two years of experience in prospecting, phone sales, or high-volume customer contact.
  • Relevant industry experience in software or technology is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications for professional outreach via phone, email, and other channels.
  • Ability to ask effective discovery questions and articulate value propositions during conversations.
  • Basic proficiency with CRM or lead management tools and maintaining accurate activity records.

Responsibilities

About the job

The Inside Sales team is looking for a Prospect Development Representative (Emerging Careers) to support new business acquisition by engaging with prospective customers through targeted prospecting and demand generation activities. In this role, you will focus on pipeline development and customer experience management by qualifying opportunities by supporting strategic sales and marketing initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding business challenges, engaging with prospective customers, and helping organizations discover new ways to achieve their goals. It offers a strong foundation in sales development, marketing alignment, and consultative communication.

As a Prospect Development Representative, you will:
  • Discover and qualify potential sales opportunities through proactive outreach and inbound lead follow-up.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with up to two years of experience in prospecting, phone sales, or a high-volume customer contact position.
  • Relevant industry experience, preferably in software or technology

  • Position location: Cary, HQ hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office)

  • Familiarity with the MarTech ecosystem and experience using marketing technology platforms to optimize customer journeys, campaign performance, and reporting.
