Job summary

Benton County Government seeks a Legal Assistant 1 to support prosecutors by preparing case files, gathering data from multiple agencies, and maintaining systems used across agencies. The role emphasizes confidentiality and organization to ensure the prosecutor can access materials quickly and argue the merits of the case.

You will file and e-file documents, assist with trial preparation, manage calendars, and communicate with defense counsel, law enforcement, and witnesses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; strong computer skills especially MS Office.
• Two years of administrative experience required; good typing and organizational skills.
• Paralegal studies, Criminal Justice, or Legal Technology degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Run and manage calendars for prosecutors and court dates; pull ledgers and track discovery.
• Prepare trial binders, file subpoenas, obtain transcripts, and serve documents as needed.
• Coordinate with defense counsel, law enforcement, and witnesses regarding case files.
