The Office of the Chief State's Attorney Conviction Integrity Unit of the State of Connecticut seeks a Deputy Assistant State's Attorney in Rocky Hill, CT. Qualifications

• Attorney at law with Connecticut Bar in good standing.
• Apprentice Prosecutor option available to law school graduates within five months of graduation with internship eligibility.
• Background check required; travel may be required in daily work.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and direct investigations for assigned cases.
• Prepare cases for arraignment and draft statements of fact.
• Review motions and prepare responses or objections.
• Interview witnesses and victims; assess case strengths.
• Conduct legal research and negotiate plea agreements.
• Participate in pre-trial conferences and jury selection.
• Try cases before juries or magistrates and handle warrants.
• Liaise with police and advise victims on rights.
