State of Connecticut - Division of Criminal Justice in Rocky Hill, CT, seeks a Deputy Assistant State's Attorney for the Conviction Integrity Unit. You will handle prosecution of assigned criminal and motor vehicle cases with core hours 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The incumbent must be a member in good standing of the Connecticut bar and may be required to travel. Appointment is made by the Criminal Justice Commission, with a robust focus on impartial justice and public service.

Qualifications

• Must be an attorney at law and a member in good standing of the Connecticut Bar.
• Background check required prior to employment.
• Appointment to this position is made by the Criminal Justice Commission.
• May travel in the course of daily work.

Responsibilities

• Review all documentation related to assigned criminal cases and infractions.
• Prepare cases for arraignment and pleadings; select charges and statements of facts.
• Plea negotiations with defense attorneys and trial preparation.
• Interview witnesses and victims; assess case strengths and weaknesses.
• Conduct pre-trial conferences and jury selection; prosecute at trial.
