PROSECUTION SERVICES CLERK
ST. CHARLES COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
Starting Salary: $37,440.37 per year

This is a full-time position which includes a full range of benefits including Paid Time Off, Extended Medical Leave, Holidays, Employee Health, Dental, Life, Disability, Retirement, and Tuition Assistance programs.
JOB OVERVIEW: This purpose of this position is to provide general clerical support to the department, including entering data into the computer. This position acts under the supervision of the Office Manager or other appropriate supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enters information into the computer.
• Maintains all filing requests including electronically.
• Answers telephones and greets visitors.
• Maintains departmental work records.
• Maintains files and retrieves records utilizing filing system.
• Assists in on-site audits.
• Updates, edits, deletes, and verifies reports as necessary.
• Types, copies, files and preforms other general clerical duties for the department personnel as necessary.
• Assists the public in locating specific information and making photocopies.
• Scans documents into optical imaging system; preforms proofing procedures for accuracy and legibility.
• Sorts and distributes incoming mail; prepares certified mail; prepares bulk mailings.
• Processes and researches information for general public.
• Set up and maintain Excel spreadsheet on departmental documentation as necessary.
• Maintain supplies, such as envelopes, labels, instructions, etc.
• Prepares checks, cash, reports and deposit tickets from receivables for copies, CD’s, certified letters, etc. Distribute to Finance and Auditor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Education
o High school education or equivalent

• Experience
o One to two years’ experience in the clerical field or any combination of education and experience that
provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities
o Knowledge of basic record keeping procedures and equipment.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
o Requires knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Working skill in customer relations and service.
o Employment is contingent on successfully passing a full criminal background check.
