Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviews reports by law enforcement to determine if further investigation is needed; drafts or returns cases for action.
• Drafts accusations and indictments; negotiates pleas and dismisses non-prosecutable cases.
• Develops trial strategy; presents cases to grand jury; questions witnesses; recommends sentences.
• Subpoenas witnesses; argues pretrial and post-trial motions; handles discovery.
• Prosecutes cases before juries and judges as lead or second chair.
• Prepares briefs for the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the DA or Chief ADA
