Job summary

Impulse Space in Mojave, CA, seeks a Ground Support Equipment Engineer to design, build, commission, and maintain test facilities supporting methane/liquid oxygen propulsion systems.

You will work with propulsion, controls, manufacturing, and test operations teams to develop world-class test capabilities, ensure safety and reliability, and continuously improve facility performance. Mojave differential pay applies, with stock options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years designing, operating, maintaining, or commissioning complex mechanical or fluid systems.
• Experience with Ground Support Equipment, industrial process systems, propulsion facilities, or similar infrastructure.
• Preferred: 3+ years engineering experience; familiarity with cryogenic fluid systems and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and commission propulsion test stands and GSE for development and acceptance testing.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and continuous improvement to maximize facility reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, fluid, electrical, and instrumentation issues in test ops.
• Support root cause investigations for facility anomalies and equipment failures.
• Participate in hazard analyses, design reviews, and readiness reviews for testing.
• Maintain documentation including P&IDs, procedures, and maintenance records.
• Promote operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across test ops.
