HX5, LLC seeks a part-time Aircraft Propulsion Systems Research Co-op Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on analyzing aircraft propulsion concepts, leveraging OpenMDAO, NPSS, and CEA, and contributing to the CTIM project within a multi-disciplinary team.

The position requires enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program, strong communication skills, and experience with Python/C++/MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Experience analyzing aircraft propulsion concepts and fundamentals of propulsion systems.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary research teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to NASA CTIM project.
• Analyze propulsion systems and integration with airframes using NPSS/OpenMDAO.
• Perform propulsion system optimization.
• Maintain and upgrade NPSS/OpenMDAO/CEA.
• Assist and mentor team members in applying analysis tools.
• Document, report, and present results clearly.
