Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft Ltd. seeks a Propulsion Systems Lead to drive design, development, integration, and certification with engine and propeller manufacturers for SR and SF platforms. You will coordinate 10–20 engineers and collaborate with subcontractors and external suppliers.

The role requires 8+ years in propulsion, 3+ years in leadership, and strong systems engineering expertise, with solid communication and initiative to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in aircraft propulsion systems.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in aircraft systems or airframe structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills on technical issues.
• Ability to manage stress with competing demands and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Interface with other aircraft disciplines and testing teams across Cirrus Aircraft platforms.
• Work with a multi-discipline team on propulsion system design development.
• Identify and coordinate with component and system suppliers.
• Lead development and certification of powerplant systems under FAR Part 23 or Part 33.
• Review industry guidance documents (SAE, ASTM, RTCA).
• Define and execute systems engineering processes and best practices.
• Mentor on thermal, modal, fluid dynamics, and propulsion architecture.
