Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Wichita, KS, is seeking a Propulsion Systems Engineer to design, develop and verify propulsion systems for defense programs. You will deliver end-to-end engineering across proposal, development, certification and in-service phases, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5 years of propulsion experience, a Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical.
  • Experience in providing product development life cycle.
  • 5 years experience in aircraft propulsion systems (Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel & FTIS).
  • Familiar with Part 25 certification requirements and advisory material.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver propulsion systems engineering support to Bombardier Defense programs from proposal to development, certification and in-service phases.
  • Apply engineering knowledge in Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel & FTIS toward planning and development of missionized solutions.
  • Develop concepts and trade studies, requirements capture, scope of work definition and supplier engagement based on customer requests.
  • Produce technical proposal activities, supplier statements of work, including written material and presentations.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to support technical engineering activities and verification plans.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Deliver highly effective and timely Propulssion systemsengineering support to Bombardier Defense programs from the proposal phases to the development, certification and inserves
  • Apply engineering knowledge in the areas of Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel and FTIS towards the planning and development of missionized solutions
  • During the proposal phase, responsibilies will include developing concept and trade studies, requirements catcapture, scope of work defintion and supplier engagement based on Customer requests
  • Produce technical proposal activities, supplier statements of work, including preparation of written material and presentations.
  • During the development and certification phases, responsibilities will include intergration of the affected system, engineering documentation updates, supplier management and governance support
  • Review supplier documentation and verfication plans.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to support technical engineering activities.
  • Participate in the successful implementation of systems installations, modifications and operation.
  • Develop good working relationships with various departments within BA and with suppliers.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in relevant discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical
  • You have experience in providing product development life cycle
  • You have 5 years experience in aircraft Propulsion systems (Powerplant, APU, FIDEEX, Fuel & FTIS).
  • You are conversant with design, qualification, and certification test requirements of Propulsionsystems.
  • You have flexibility to travel and work outside normal hours.
  • You are familiar with Part 25 certification requirements and advisory material.
  • You possess strong integration skills, in both system partner management and system technical integration.
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office software tools.
  • You have strong communication skills, ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • You must be able to work on ITAR controlled project
