Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Propulsion Structures Engineer in a hybrid position to support the NAWCAD structural integrity programs at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. The ideal candidate will conduct risk assessments, analyze propulsion data, and establish safety limits for military aircraft. A preferred candidate will have a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, with proven teamwork and communication skills. Salary range is $104,000 - $166,000, and benefits include medical, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, 6 with an MS/MA, or 3 with a PhD.
• Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering degree is preferred.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform time-sensitive risk assessments of propulsion hardware.
• Establish and validate life limits for safety-critical components.
• Analyze mission data to validate engine life-prediction algorithms.
• Develop proposals for new testing technologies and modeling capabilities.
