Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Propulsion Production Engineer to support assembly, testing, and fueling of propulsion hardware in our Palo Alto, CA office. You will work closely with manufacturing, configuration, and technician teams to ensure safe, reliable hardware performance and on-time program milestones.

The role emphasizes translating engineering intent into hardware, developing test procedures, and leading data capture and analysis for propulsion systems across satellite programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline and 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to work hands-on in lab/shop environments for hardware fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily engineering support during propulsion hardware assembly, testing, and integration.
  • Translate engineering intent and configurations into functional hardware.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing and test procedures for propulsion hardware.
  • Coordinate test configurations, equipment, and data acquisition for hardware testing.
  • Perform test setup, execution, and teardown with technicians and manufacturing engineers.
  • Capture, analyze, and report test data for internal and customer buyoff.
  • Lead root-cause analysis of non-conformances and coordinate rework.
  • Collaborate with propulsion engineers on design phases to optimize configurations.
  • Identify and deploy manufacturing improvements to boost quality and throughput.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to achieve production goals.

Lanteris Space LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intuitive Machines, is hiring a Propulsion Production Engineer based in our Palo Alto, CA office.In this role you will support assembly, testing, and fueling of chemical and electrical propulsion systems across multiple satellite programs. This role is focused on preparing and executing testing of flight hardware, while working closely with configuration, manufacturing, and technician teams to ensure safe, reliable hardware performance.Intuitive Machines is a leading space infrastructure company that builds spacecraft, connects networks, and operates infrastructure-as-a-service for commercial, civil, and national security customers. With a proven track record across the space domain, the Company, through organic growth and portfolio expansion, has built over 300 spacecraft, delivered over 260 kilograms of payload to the lunar surface, and provided precision navigation expertise that has guided spacecraft across our solar system.Responsibilities:* Provide daily engineering support during assembly, integration, and testing activities for propulsion hardware at both unit and spacecraft levels to ensure efficient production and produce the highest quality hardware.* Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware.* Develop and execute manufacturing and test procedures for propulsion hardware, including hardware qualification processes.* Coordinate test configurations, equipment, and data acquisition requirements for hardware testing. Perform and lead test setup, execution, and teardown in collaboration with technicians and manufacturing engineers.* Capture and interpret test data, review against requirements, generate test reports and data packages for internal and customer buyoff.* Perform root cause analysis of non-conformances, lead resolution and rework activities, and troubleshoot and make real-time decisions during hazardous and high-pressure operations.* Coordinate with cross-functional groups, organizational leadership, and customers to achieve milestones in critical operations and ensure mission success.* Collaborate with other Propulsion engineers during program design phases to generate optimal system configurations and implement lessons learned* Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods (or refine existing) to improve quality, reduce costs and downtime, and optimize build schedule and utilization of equipment and materials.* Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.* Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.Minimum Requirements:* Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline* Minimum of 2 years of related work experience* Proficiency with the MS Office Suite; Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook* Ability and willingness to work hands-on in a lab or shop environment in support of hardware fabrication, assembly, and testing* Ability to travel up to 20% of the year for propellant loading and launch campaignsPreferred Qualifications:* Master’s degree* Coursework, labs, and/or direct experience with the design, manufacturing, and test of spacecraft propulsion systems* Experience supporting aerospace, propulsion, pressure systems, or test hardware* Exposure to propulsion system integration, ground testing, or launch operations* Familiarity with manufacturing workflows, process instructions, and build records* Familiarity with data acquisition systems, CREO, MATLAB, Java, and/or HTML* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary engineering environment and manage multiple parallel tasks* Strong written, personal, and computer skills* Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floorIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.● The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
