Job summary

Varda is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II (Propulsion) in El Segundo, CA to scale propulsion production from bespoke runs to concurrent builds. You will own end-to-end processes, develop work instructions, and drive improvements with design and supply chain teams across high-pressure fluid systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with tube fabrication and a strong engineering mindset to diagnose build defects and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing or related field with 1–3+ years experience.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience with propulsion or high-pressure hardware in aerospace.
• Hands-on tube fabrication, bending, fittings, and high-pressure assembly.
• Familiarity with propulsion cleanliness requirements and contamination control.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end propulsion hardware manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and process specs for high-pressure systems.
• Provide technical direction to improve propulsion build processes and cadence.
• Enforce propulsion cleanliness protocols and contamination control.
• Lead RCCA for propulsion non-conformances and leaks.
• Define tooling and test equipment requirements for tube shop ops.
• Collaborate with design and supply chain to prevent delays.
• Refine propulsion work cell layouts for higher cadence.
