Job summary

Torch Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking a mid-level Propulsion Engineer to join our Army Aviation Program Management Office. You will lead and support the design review, integration, and testing of turbine engines, FADEC systems, and related propulsion subsystems for both legacy and next-generation aircraft.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in aviation propulsion, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with government stakeholders and OEMs.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
• Bachelor degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years in aviation propulsion, turbine engines, or aerospace systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of gas turbine thermodynamics, FADEC architecture, integration, and airworthiness processes.
• Experience executing system-level reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and engineering oversight of design, development, integration and production of aircraft turbine engines and APUs.
• Manage FADEC system verification and validation ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Oversee integration of exhaust, IR signature, and survivability features for aircraft.
• Plan and supervise propulsion system ground, lab, and flight testing per military protocols.
• Direct subsystem integration, including fuel control, lubrication, starting, and diagnostics.
• Perform airworthiness reviews of OEM reports, specs, test plans and ECPs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, safety, PMO, and flight ops to align milestones.
