In this role, you will frequently use and apply technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Working under general supervision, you will follow established procedures while contributing to the completion of designs directly associated with program milestones. You will collaborate with other mechanical teams and occasionally communicate outside of Sierra Space to ensure alignment and progress. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing propulsion systems, subsystems, and components for space vehicles, including launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. You will develop solutions to technical problems, conduct tests and simulations to validate propulsion system performance, and document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference. Additionally, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for propulsion systems and components, while staying updated with the latest advancements in propulsion engineering and applying new knowledge to ongoing projects. Participating in team meetings, you will contribute to project planning and progress discussions, as well as mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
