Job summary

Poseidon Aerospace is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to lead the propulsion team from assembly and bring-up to a flight-ready powerplant. You will run engines on a test stand, develop procedures, and validate performance and durability targets while collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience tuning EFI piston engines for aviation or motorsport, with test-cell or dyno exposure and knowledge of AvGas/MoGas fuel effects on calibration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on tuning and calibration of EFI piston engine systems for aviation or motorsport.
• Experience qualifying or validating engines on a test cell, dyno, or test stand and through ground/flight testing.
• Practical knowledge of aviation/ automotive fuels (AvGas, MoGas) and their effect on calibration.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate the engine across the full aviation envelope: fueling, ignition, idle stability, transient response, and closed-loop control.
• Run the engine test program on an instrumented stand: break-in, performance mapping, endurance/qualification runs.
• Bring up integrated engine from hardware through verification; diagnose faults and close out anomalies.
