Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a skilled propulsion engineer to own hardware from concept to production across multiple rocket engine programs. You will lead design and testing efforts for injectors, chambers, and nozzles, ensuring reliability and performance as part of a fast-moving team.

You will develop and maintain combustion models, write assembly instructions, and coordinate with manufacturing, analysis, and test groups to reduce variation and drive successful launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Solid foundation in rocket engine design, test, or analysis.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Engine Combustion Device Hardware through full lifecycle.
• Design modifications to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Maintain and improve combustor performance models.
• Prepare and update assembly instructions and establish tests.
• Assemble and test first article prototypes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, analysis, and test teams to reduce variation.
