Job summary

True Anomaly, Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager for Propulsion Development and Test to lead and grow a high‑performing propulsion team.

You will own strategy, execution, and the people behind our propulsion development program, delivering design trades and test campaigns across the portfolio. You will guide development requirements, supervise hands‑on engineers, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across all activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years propulsion and fluid systems engineering for aerospace/defense with at least 3 years in people management.
  • Proven leadership in propulsion test campaigns (hot-fire, cold-flow, pressure tests).
  • Hands-on propulsion/fluids design, analysis, or test.
  • Experience with hypergolic propellants and related safety standards/regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with schedules and budgets.
  • Track record of building cohesive technical teams and developing contributors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and develop propulsion development engineers, writing requirements, designing, analyzing, testing and delivering prototype hardware on aggressive schedules.
  • Align incoming propulsion development demand with team capabilities, resources, and schedules; collaborate on strategy and roadmaps.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans for team members.
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, safety, accountability, and ownership.
  • Resolve technical blockers, resource conflicts, and cross-functional issues affecting the team.
  • Build and execute a roadmap to evaluate propulsion systems at component and system level; plan tests.
