Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA seeks a Propulsion Components Engineer II to own system- and component-level propulsion development for Space Systems. You’ll lead end-to-end design, analysis, and testing of propulsion components, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-performance flight hardware.

You’ll bring a 2+ years in propulsion or high-performance fields, a Bachelor’s in engineering, US citizenship, and ability to obtain security clearance;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 2+ years propulsion system development or related high‑performance field.
• US citizenship is required and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own development of new or existing propulsion products or systems, acting as technical lead.
• Create conceptual and detailed CAD designs for propulsion components and perform performance calculations.
• Review drawings, 3D PMI, and specifications for accuracy.
• Plan tests, set up instrumentation, and analyze data.
• Mentor team members and support engineering processes and documentation.
