Job summary

Bird Johnson, a Fairbanks Morse Defense Company, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to translate complex propulsion designs into proven machining processes on multi-axis CNC equipment. You will own programs from model to machine and collaborate with machinists to optimize toolpaths and verify through simulations.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, experience with Siemens NX CAM, VERICUT, and Teamcenter, and a focus on digital manufacturing in a growing naval propulsion environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering or related field required.
• Associate’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience accepted.
• Equivalent progressive experience with no degree may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prove out, and maintain fully associative NX CAM programs for 3–5 axis milling/turning on Siemens 840D controls.
• Create complex drive geometries and surfaces for propulsion components with tight tolerances.
• Collaborate in PLM/NC integration using Teamcenter and NX CAM workflows.
